July 2017, Broomall, PA. Theraplay, Inc., was founded in 1991 by physical therapist Lisa Mackell to answer a growing need for quality pediatric therapy. Starting out of her home, Mackell opened Theraplay’s first outpatient center in Malvern, PA in 1996. Today, they are the region’s leading provider of pediatric occupational, physical, and speech therapies. Theraplay also offers feeding and concussion rehabilitation programs, as well as special instruction, early intervention and school services.
In the past 26 years Theraplay has opened many new centers, as well as moved current centers to accommodate the growing need for therapy in the area. Their Broomall center, located at 600 Reed Road in Broomall, PA, is the most recent office to move to a larger space within the same building. Adding over 1,000 square feet, including treatment rooms for feeding and sensory processing, a larger gym and a dedicated orthopedic rehabilitation area for older patients, the Broomall center is now better equipped to handle the growing number of referrals it has been seeing.
Center Manager Beth Algeo, MA, CCC-SLP, is very excited about the move. “I am so happy that we have the space to treat more patients. We have seen a growing need for therapy in the area and it is wonderful that Theraplay is able to meet that need!”
With the recent opening of its tenth outpatient center and this newest relocation, Theraplay continues to provide crucial services for countless children and their families.
