Amy joined the Theraplay team in October 2013 as a speech therapist in the Newtown center and became manager of the Doylestown center in May 2017. She has 20 years of experience as a speech-language pathologist. A native of Chicago, Amy received an undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and a master’s degree from Vanderbilt University, both in speech-language pathology. Prior to coming to Theraplay, she worked in a variety of pediatric settings, including clinics, private practice, schools and early intervention.
Amy enjoys working with children with a variety of communication and feeding disorders but has special interest and clinical expertise in the treatment of autism, language processing disorders and childhood apraxia of speech. She has attended many specialized trainings in these areas, including advanced training in PROMPT therapy for motor speech disorders. Amy is recognized by The Childhood Apraxia of Speech Association of America as a specialist and has received an ACE award from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association for continuing education.
Amy resides in Doylestown with her husband and three sons. In her free time, she can be found running, swimming and volunteering with area youth sports organizations.
