February 2017, Broomall, PA. Theraplay, Inc., a regional leader in pediatric physical, occupational, and speech therapies, as well as feeding and concussion rehabilitation programs and special instruction, has been helping children reach their fullest potential since it was founded in 1991. Starting with early intervention, home care and school services, Theraplay has expanded to nine outpatient centers, with plans to open a tenth in early 2017.
Beth Algeo, MA, CCC-SLP, is the newest member of the Theraplay management team, joining the Broomall location as a speech-language pathologist and Center Manager. Beth previously worked for Theraplay in a number of their outpatient centers. Since 2014 she has gained a wide range of experience working for St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children treating a variety of speech and language diagnoses. Additionally, she has treated children who attend cyber school in their homes or the community. Beth’s particular areas of interest include social language and augmentative and alternative communication, such as PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) or speech generating devices.
Beth received her Bachelor of Science in Communication Science and Disorders from the University of Pittsburgh and her Master of Arts in Communicative Disorders from West Chester University. Says Beth: “I am very excited to be back at Theraplay working with other caring and supportive therapists to address the needs of children and their families!”
